Today, I’m going to show you how to make a penpal folder using the Primrose Garden VBKit paper! You can use either the cardstock or vellum paper. The choice is up to you! Best part is that no glue is necessary.
A penpal folder is a mini folder that can be stuffed with anything ranging from samplers of textured papers, stickers, diecuts, basically anything. You can also decorate your folder with layers of washi and stickers.
You will need the following: Vellum or cardstock Paper trimmer Ruler Pen/marker Stickers Washi
All measurements for this tutorial will be in centimeters.
For this tutorial, I used a cardstock sheet from the Primrose Garden VBKit. I used my paper trimmer to cut it down to 15cm by 11.5cm.
Next step is to turn the sheet diagonally, bringing one corner to the top, creating two peaks like mountains. The space should be at least 2cm.
After creasing the peaks, it’s time to fold the flaps. Measure one end of the sheet and using your pen, make a little dot to mark 5cm. Then moving to the other side of the sheet, again using your pen, measure 5cm.
Once you have the paper marked, fold one end at the 5cm mark. Then fold the other side at the 5cm mark.
Next step is a little challenging. Using the left flap, tuck in the sheet into the right first folder.
Your penpal folder should look like this:
Now it’s time to get your stickers and washi out to decorate the folder! You can use as little or as much deco as you’d like or even leave it as is!
And that’s it! Thank you so much for reading! Please tag me (@bubblepuddle) if you do try this tutorial out. I’d love to see all your creations!
