I can’t believe that this year is almost over! With that, I am beginning to look ahead to 2024. One of my goals for next year is to read one book per month. As a one-time avid reader, at some point in my life, I put my beloved books on the back burner. Well, the new Book Club Mini VBKit has rekindled my passion for turning the page in a good book.
My favorite item was the “new surprise product” - the stamps! I immediately knew how I was going to use them and incorporate them in my planner. I created a book log to record six books that I have committed myself to reading from January to June of 2024. Here’s how it all came together.
I started by choosing the stamps I was going to use and mounted them on the stamping blocks. One tip that I have found useful is to rub the stamp on the back of my hand before inking. I read somewhere long ago that the oil on your skin helps the ink adhere to the stamp. This has been my method ever since!
I stamped the images on a blank grid page from my VBPlanner. It’s perfect for what I have in mind because I will be placing this page at the beginning of my 2024 planner.
The next step was to add a few stickers. I used the Book Club Script Words stickers as embellishments for the page. My goal was to keep this page as simple as possible while still being cute, so I didn’t want to add a ton of deco.
Then I added a few lines next to each little book as well as the page title. I also left blank space so that I can record my thoughts on each book I read.
The last two things I did was to add some strips of washi to frame the title and add a few little heart stickers from the checklist page in the sticker book.
That’s it. This was such a quick project! I will be using this page as motivation to start back doing something I have always loved. At the end of the first half of the year, I will make another page to track the next six books I read. By the end of 2024, I will have a summary of what I have read throughout the year. By the way, if you have any book recommendations, please send them my way!
I’d love to see how you decide to use the Book Club Mini VBKit stamps in your planners. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. Tag me @drinkcoffee.makestuff and @shopvillabeautifful on Instagram and make sure you post in the Villabeautifful Community Facebook group.
