Today I'm sharing a quick & easy project featuring the holo die cut stickers from April's In Bloom Luxe VBKit! I'll be using the stickers to create a bookmark page marker for myVBPlanner. This project can be tweaked for any size planner or even just a regular rectangular bookmark.
Here's the list of supplies I used for this project:
In Bloom holo die cut flower sticker pack
scissors (paper cutter optional)
piece of clear laminate/acetate
laminating pouches
laminator
planner/hole punch (I used the HappyPlanner punch)
For the base of this project, I'm using a spare piece of laminate that was cut off from a previous laminated project. It makes a nice, clear background & is a great way to use up scraps.
The first thing I did was to take aUni-Pin Pento mark the clear laminate piece for the length of my planner. This way I can see exactly how tall my bookmark should be once placed inside the planner.
Next, I played around with placement ideas by moving the die cuts around on the piece of laminate. For this step, I did NOT remove the paper backing from the stickers.
I decided to put the stickers featuring mushrooms at the bottom then layer the other florals all the way up towards the top, making sure to take note that additional graphics (such as ladybugs & butterflies) were all facing the correct direction. As long as you don't remove the backing yet, you can move these around until you find your perfect set up.
Once you've decided on your layout, it's time to start sticking! Remove the paper backing from your die cut stickers & begin to place them down on your clear piece of laminate or acetate.
Once all the stickers are down, go ahead & use scissors to fussy cut around the right side outer shape of the stickers. If you'll be using your bookmark as a planner page marker, be sure to leave plenty of room on the left side so you are able to punch holes in the laminate/acetate.
Trim down the left side to the desired width you'd like for your bookmark. I made mine just wide enough to punch the disc holes without punching into the sticker designs.
Then add your bookmark into a laminating pouch. I placed mine to the far side of the pouch so I'd have plenty of excess laminate to use for future projects. If you're making multiple, smaller bookmarks you can also place them all in the same laminating pouch - just make sure to leave room in between them so the laminate will seal.
Next run the pouch through the laminator. I like to run mine through a few times to make sure everything's sealed properly.
Time to trim again! Be careful not to cut into the laminate seal as it may cause the lamination to open. Fussy cut the excess laminate around your bookmark, again leaving room on the left if you'll be punching for your planner.
Once it's trimmed, grab your planner punch or hole punch & punch on the left side in the clear space of your bookmark.
Now add to your planner! I situated my stickers a little longer than the length of my planner so that part of the top design would stick out, acting as a page marker to easily find a section of my planner.
Here are a couple of close ups of how my bookmark turned out!
And here's a look at what the bookmark looks like when my VBPlanner is closed. How cute is that little bee peeking out?!
