VB Tutorial: Good Times Foiled Dashboard

Hey Villababes!

Today’s tutorial is going to teach you how to use a digital from the "Good Times" VBKit to make a foiled dashboard!

Here are some of the items that you will need to complete this project:

VB Digitals from the Good Times Kit
Toner Reactive Foil (Heidi Swapp and Deco Foil are some great ones)
Laser Printer (This will absolutely not work with an inkjet)
Acetate or Vellum (Make sure they work with laser printers)
Paper Trimmer

Optional:
Adhesive Pocket
Puffy Stickers
VB Kit Paper

To begin, you will want to print the “Monochrome Shapes” file from the Good Times digitals that were sent to those who pre-ordered the kits. This technique works best when you can print images that are black and white. Make sure to print using a laser printer and choose the type of paper you’d like to print on. This will work on your standard printer paper, vellum, or acetate. For the sample, I’ve chosen to use acetate. Once printed, you will cut the paper down to the size of your planner inserts.

The next step is to grab a piece of toner reactive foil and place the back side of the foil on top of the printed image as shown in the picture below.

Once you’ve layered the foil on top of the printed image, you will carefully sandwich the items between two sheets of regular printer paper and carefully feed it through your laminator. Make sure your laminator is heated up. I usually feed it through my laminator twice so that it will get the cleanest possible foiling results. Peel the layer of foil off to reveal your finished product!

To elevate the look of your planner, choose a VB paper that would layer well with your foiled project. To be honest, any of the paper would have been a great match with this project, but I loved the bright colors of the one I chose. Cut your patterned paper down to size and hole punch to fit inside your planner.

To add some extra fun to your project, find an adhesive pocket and apply it to the center of your acetate, and then add your favorite puffy sticker to the front! You can use this pocket to store notes, die cuts, and even paper clips!

To change up the look, you can layer the acetate with a different paper. I achieved this look by flipping the patterned paper around, as all VB papers are double sided! Good luck VillaBabes!
