Jennie McGarvey back with you today to talk about infusing your planner with creativity using your Good Times VBKit + stamps! Right now with the slower pace of life being the norm thanks to social distancing, there's time to try your hand at getting really creative. I personally combined my Good Times VBKit with a set of The Happy Planner stamps. However, you could doodle in place of stamping or maybe use other solid or basic patterned stickers in your stash. Be creative -- that is the whole point! There's finally time (and probably some extra room in your pages) to do just that.
You can see that I leaned heavily on the bright, retro color palette from the Good Times VBKit. I selected three inks to stamp the same stamp - I wanted the color to be unique and the focus. Using the same stamp allowed that to happen here.
The stickers are so cute and the basic pattern allows the focus to be on the stickers - the stamps are very complimentary to the stickers, which was what I was trying to do. I also off set the stickers from the stamping enough to see both. I don't have a lot going on this week, so this helps use up a bit of the space, as well.
Now, with everything being cancelled, I am still including those plans in my planner, anyway. Since I plan on holding onto my planners long term, this allows us to see everything that we missed thanks to COVID-19.
I had to use my favorite sticker from the Good Times kit [positive energy] at the beginning of the week to set the tone. Another way I wanted to add positive energy was with a bit of fun with this washi tape! I love that the colors are all here and that the print has a fun retro vibe. I didn't have any place I wanted to use it horizontally, so I flipped it and was so happy with how it looks, vertically!
Now, each month that there are dainty stickers I'm thrilled - I LOVE these as bullet point stickers. They are always cute and are the perfect size for lists, appointments, etc. I love how adorable each icon is, but they don't compete with my decorative clusters in any way. They are perfect!
I challenge you to try adding stamping to your Good Times layouts - bring in those retro colors or stick to neutrals. Either way, I bet you'll have as much fun getting inky as I did!
